  • Lace Market

The Lace Market is a historic quarter-mile square area in Nottingham, England. Once the heart of the world's lace industry (during the days of the British Empire), it is full of impressive examples of 19th century industrial architecture and thus a protected heritage area.

how do we get the most out of our shared coexistence?

The Lowdown

TEDxLaceMarket will see 100 people get together and enjoy a series of Talks on the topic of families, communities and coexistence. What do cohousing, managing a family business, organising a world event on culture and arts, experimenting with social enterprise innovation, and fatherhood on the digital era have to teach us?

This and other questions will be answered by 10 unique Speakers who will share experiences and ideas, and provide an exciting opportunity to get inspired and be challenged. On November 24th, 100 people will become a family for a day.

Taking place at the city’s historic centre, the Lace Market, in the Nottingham Contemporary, the event will include insightful speeches, engaging activities and discussions, and screenings of family-themed videos from the TED archive.

Participation and involvement are key. Keep up with the organisers’ Preptastic video diaries in the run-up to the event. Engage with the rest of the TEDxLaceMarket community prior to arrival. Come along with your opinions and ideas. Explore ≥2.
